The brief
Addenbrooke's department of ophthalmology is the busiest of all of the outpatient departments and accounts for over 10% of all of Addenbrooke's outpatient attendances.
The diagnosis of eye diseases relies heavily on visual imagery and so ophthalmic imaging techniques are an essential part of the ophthalmologist's armoury.
Our solution
Media Studio's clinical photographers see around 10,000 patients every year. As well as external eye photography with close-up lenses, we use a range of specialist instruments and techniques. These include colour and red-free retinal photography, wide-angle retina scanning, fundus fluorescein angiography and optical coherence tomography.
